Requirements for the Major (38 or 46 credits)
Students majoring in Classical Studies must choose one of the two concentrations listed below. A. Prerequisites (do not count towards major)
B. Intermediate Level (4 credits)
II. Writing in the Major Seminar (2 credits)
III. Capstone (4 credits)
Note
This requirement is waived for those writing an Honors Thesis in Classics. A. Classical Languages (28 credits)
Advanced Language (16 credits)
Four upper-level courses (16 credits) in Greek or Latin, in any combination of the two languages. Classical Literature in Translation (4 credits)
Electives (8 credits)
8 credits chosen from the combined list of the Electives below and the following courses: B. Classical Studies (36 credits)
Additional Language (8 credits)
Two intermediate- or upper-level courses (8 credits) in Greek or Latin. Electives (28 credits)
28 credits chosen from the combined list of the Electives below and the following courses: Notes
Other courses may be substituted as appropriate. Students should consult with their Classics advisor.
The first year of a second Classical language may be substituted for one of these courses. |
