EAP 504 - Graduate Skills II: Listening and Speaking

3 credits
Designed for international students undertaking a graduate pathway program and helps to further develop a range of key academic skills and knowledge for study at a US University. Focuses on the development and practice of speaking and listening skills necessary for successful communication in the university environment, with additional outcomes related to pronunciation training. Concentrates on effective strategies for listening to lectures, participating in classroom and general academic discourse, and giving presentations. Provides opportunities for oral fluency and pronunciation practice. Additionally, focuses on oral communication in real-world settings and navigating particular aspects of American cultural communication genres. Student Profile: Students taking this course are enrolled in the second semester of the Graduate Standard Pathway program and have completed EAP 502  with a course grade of C- or better.
