EAP 502 - Graduate Skills I: Listening and Speaking Course Outline3 credits Designed for international students undertaking a graduate pathway program and helps to further develop a range of key academic skills and knowledge for study at a US University. Concentrates on the development and practice of speaking and listening skills necessary for successful communication in the university environment, with additional outcomes related to pronunciation training. Specifically, focuses on effective strategies for listening to lectures, participating in classroom and general academic discourse, and giving presentations. In addition, provides opportunities for oral fluency and pronunciation practice. Student Profile: Students taking this course are enrolled in the Graduate Standard Pathway program and have completed all of Academic English Level 4 courses with grades of C (73%) or better or submitted a qualifying language test score (equivalent to TEOFL iBT 65/14 minimum subscores or IELTS 5.5/5.0 minimum subscores).
