SOC 308 - Sociology of Population4 credits An introductory examination of the social study of population. Topics include current concern about population expansion; history of global demographic increases and decreases; examination of important demographic theories, particularly those of Malthus and Marx; analysis of the major demographic variables of fertility, mortality, and migration.
