SOC 249 - Sociology of Work4 credits A sociological examination of the varieties of work and the ways in which the changing nature of work affects the well-being of the workers. Topics include different types of jobs, occupations and professions, low-wage work and poverty, worker health and safety, work and family, race, class and gender in the workplace, and collectives’ responses to work. Prerequisite: SOC 101 . Offered annually.
