LAT 320 - Roman Prose4 credits Readings chosen from Cicero’s speeches from the courtroom or the Senate; the letters of Cicero and Pliny; and the histories of Sallust, Livy, Suetonius, and Tacitus. With study of their historical contexts, prose style, rhetorical techniques, and influence. May be repeated for credit as topic changes. Prerequisite: LAT 201 or placement based on exam. Offered spring semester in even-numbered years.
