CHEM 365 - Foundation in Biochemistry without Laboratory

3 credits
A version of CHEM 360 which does not include the laboratory component. Provides a study of the fundamental principles of protein biochemistry with an introduction to cell signaling and metabolism and bioenergetics. Topics may include chemistry of amino acids, basic protein structure, function and methods, enzyme kinetics and mechanisms, and regulation of enzymatic activity. Metabolic pathways explored include Glycolysis, Gluconeogenesis, the Citric Acid Cycle and Oxidative Phosphorylation. This course cannot be counted towards the Chemistry or Biochemistry major or minor. Prioritized registration to students enrolled in the Postbaccalaureate Premedical program. Recommended pre-requisites or co-requisites: CHEM 350  and/or BIOL 250 .
