Theatre Arts Major

Requirements for the Major (53 credits)

IV. Concentrations (10 credits)


In addition to the core requirements for the Theatre Major, 10 credits from an area of concentration in the Theatre and Dance curriculum with a minimum of 4 credits at the upper level.

To be selected in consultation with and approved by the major advisor in preparation for the senior capstone.

Students who opt not to pursue a concentration may still earn a BA in Theatre by completing 10 elective credits from any of the following areas comprising 8 credits of coursework and 2 credits of theatre practice.

V. Capstone (4 credits)


Capstone projects should be the culminating experience of one or more concentrations. Students can fulfuill the 4-credit capstone requirement by taking either THEA 401, or by taking both THEA 400 AND THEA 402. 

VI. Departmental Productions and Events


Majors are required to attend opening nights of all major departmental productions, majors’ meetings, designated strikes, and workshops.

To remain in good standing, majors are also expected to support all department events by attending Plays in Process readings and all special departmental meetings and functions.
