Requirements for the Major (40 credits)

Note: Students are required to take one course that focuses on Africa and one that focuses on the African-American experience.
I. Interdisciplinary Core (12 credits)

12 upper-level credits are required. A. Social Sciences (8-20 credits)
Courses must be taken from at least two different subject areas. B. Humanities & Arts (8-20 credits)
Courses must be taken from at least two different subject areas. C. Additional General Electives (0-12 credits)
D. Honors Thesis (0-8 credits)
Notes
Students should consult the list published each semester by the Pan-African Studies program for additional courses. Other CLA, Caspersen, and Theological School courses may be applied to the major if they are proposed to and approved by the Pan-African Studies Committee.
Students interested in pursuing graduate studies are encouraged to write an Honors Thesis. |
