Middle East Studies Minor

All students must take one of the following:

Requirements for the Minor (20 to 26 credits)

Additional courses must be spread across at least two of the following four areas.  Note also that between the core and the electives, at least three different disciplines should be included.

TREC programs that involve travel to the region also may count towards the Minor.

With the approval of the Director of the program in Middle Eastern and Muslim Communities, students may count towards their minor other appropriate intermediate- and upper-level courses, which may be offered from time to time.

Note


Students contemplating graduate or professional work related to the Middle East are strongly encouraged to study Arabic and to supplement their study of the language with intensive summer language programs recommended by the Director of the Middle East Studies Program.
