Master of Arts in History and Culture (M.A.)


Degree Requirements

Students in the Master of Arts program complete 30 credit hours from History and Culture listings, as well as approved courses from other Caspersen programs.

I. Required Courses (15 credits)


B. Historiography (9 credits)


Two courses from American or European Historiography to count towards a Major field, and one course from either of the remaining two to count towards a Minor field.

II. Electives


Non-Thesis Track (15 credits)


Taken from existing History and Culture courses, as well as courses from the Caspersen School or Theological School with approval by Convenor, including 3 credits in “Methodology” and 3 credits in “Extradisciplinary” study.

Thesis Track (12 credits)


Taken from existing History and Culture courses, as well as courses from the Caspersen School or Theological School with approval by Convenor, including 3 credits in “Methodology” and 3 credits in “Extradisciplinary” study.
