All majors are expected to attend Art Department events, including guest lectures, gallery talks, exhibition receptions, workshops, and to participate in student exhibition programs.

A portfolio of high quality may be presented to the chair of the department to seek exemption from an introductory course. If granted, students must make up the credits with an additional studio art course.
