PSTH 555 - Hymnology

3 credits
A study of the hymn in Christian worship with emphasis on great hymn writers of the past, contemporary writers, and the composers of hymn tunes. Although the course emphasizes the hymn traditions of America and Europe, attention is given to the congregational music of African and Asian Christianity as well.
