CHST 798 - Late Ancient Judaism3 credits A seminar exploring the history of Judaism from the hellenistic to the early rabbinic periods, with particular attention to the place of Christianity in that history. Attention is given to selected historiographic issues as encountered in the reading of recent scholarly literature, complemented by readings of ancient texts.
