BBST 745 - Letters to Corinth3 credits What were the hopes and struggles of the people who gathered in the Greek city of Corinth in the first century and claimed the power of the spirit of God in Christ? The only way that this group is known is through 1 and 2 Corinthians, and the texts that later intrepreted them. Following some feminist interpreters, the communities that received Paul’s letters are placed at the center of inquiry. With this historical and contextual approach, students consider how Paul’s letters might be approached dialogically and from multiple perspectives.
