BBCL 756 - The Exodus Tradition3 credits Through the lens of cultural memory, ethnic identity, and migration studies, students examine the biblical narrative of Exodus and its re-uses in biblical and extra-biblical texts. Significant focus shall be on portions of the narrative that touch on issues pertinent to the life of a multiethnic community. There may be close readings and exegesis of portions of the exodus narrative, some history of interpretation, and discussions on the literary and social construction of identity in the narrative.
