PSCI 263 - Environmental Security & Climate Change4 credits Provides students with the background and conceptual tools necessary for understanding the relationship between anthropogenic climate change and international conflict. Examines several connected environmental issues and assesses the effectiveness of international efforts to address environmental problems. Explores the social, political, and economic factors that contribute to and result from human security problems linked to climate change. Includes examinations of contemporary intrastate conflicts. Students will have the opportunity to gain the analytical skills necessary to understand the mechanisms and consequences of both historical and contemporary climate change. Same as ESS 261 .
