TREC 399 - LocalTREC: Your World, Your Major, and You

Emphasizes the concept of a journey, rather than the destination. Motivates wandering, exploring, making connections, and understanding one’s place in the world in new and different ways. Allows students to transform ordinary surroundings into lively and profound landscapes. Encourages students to TREC (Travel/Rethink/Explore/Connect) wherever they are through physical, virtual, or imaginative immersion in their community. Participants will have the opportunity to record their explorations via photography, writing, sound, and other means, and then, in consultation with faculty experts, apply economic, environmental, psychological, historical, and other frameworks to develop projects that convey their newfound knowledge about their communities with others.
