4 credits Introduces techniques for modeling and simulating random systems that are otherwise complicated to study. Covers sampling from probability distributions, approximate sampling, Monte Carlo and MCMC methods, bootstrap, and simulation based inference. Prerequisite: C- or better in CSCI 149 or CSCI 150 or STAT 120.
