HIST 304 - Selected Topics in Global History2-4 credits A study of a global historical theme or topic that uses a methodological approach or viewpoint not fully explored within the departmental offerings. Topics vary according to student interest and faculty expertise, but will consider the construction of social difference, hierarchical power relations and inequalities between groups in at least one country other than the United States. Also considers the ways that global forces have shaped the experiences of individuals and groups in countries outside the U.S. Course is repeatable as topic varies. Prioritized registration for history majors. Registration restricted to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. CLA-Breadth/Humanities, CLA-Diversity International
