CSCI 260 - Computer Systems & Architecture4 credits Introduction to computer systems and architecture. Architecture concepts include machine-level representation of data, assembly language programming, von Neumann architecture, the memory hirerarchy and pipeplining (including instructions, data and thread level parallelism). Functions of the UNIX operating system from a user’s and programmer’s perspective. Introduction to C programming, pointers, and UNIX command line tools. Cannot receive credit for both CSCI 320 and CSCI 260. Prerequisite: C- or better in CSCI 151 or CSCI 230 . Offered every year.
