SOC 226 - Sociology of Race and Ethnicity

Focuses on an analysis of race and ethnicity as social constructions. An examination of the creation of race and ethnic categories and process of social stratification based on these categories. Explores the historical, economic and political processes that shape our understanding of race and ethnicity in the U.S. and abroad. Prerequisite: SOC 101  or permission of instructor.
