HIST 335 - Early Modern Europe4 credits The political, cultural, and spiritual life of Europe as it made the transition to the modern era. Topics will be organized around a series of tensions: the religious versus the secular; science versus superstition; elite versus folk culture; centralized versus local authority, and reason versus faith.
