THST 530 - Race, Place, and Privilege

3 credits
A problem-based learning course researching and analyzing the histories of enslavement, racism, and racial privilege in a particular place. The goal is to increase knowledge about the the legacies of racism in the present material and social realities of a place, to increase awareness of the inheritances of privilege, and to identify resources for making change. As the course is part of the curriculum of the Theological School, special attention will be paid to the place of religion in these histories. Signature required.
