HIST 244 - Modern French History

4 credits
Major themes and events in French history, starting with the “Age of Absolutism” and the reign of the Bourbons and ending with contemporary French society. The French revolution and its enduring impact on French politics and culture will have a central place in the course, as will France’s status as a world power in the 19th and 20th centuries. Offered in alternate years. CLA-Breadth/Humanities, CLA-Diversity International, CLA-Writing Intensive
