3 credits A basic survey of the history, methods, theory, and philosophy of historiography. Students will be introduced to diverse approaches to historical research and writing, and they will learn how to assimilate and criticize bodies of scholarly literature. Required for all students in the History and Culture program. May not be repeated. First semester annually.
