3 credits This course introduces students to the quantitative and theoretical foundations of investing and securities valuation. Students will learn about the characteristics of financial markets and the major categories of financial assets and investments. The topics covered in the course include: risk and return, portfolio theory, asset pricing models, and option pricing models.
