ARCR 835 - Transformational Policing

3 credits
The goal of this course is to provide law enforcement personnel & community members with the applicable principles and concepts of Transformational Policing Model, a hybrid version of Community Oriented Policing (COP). This course will examine the root causes of conflict involving law enforcement and the communities they serve.  The course will provide general guidance to law enforcement officers in the forging of Positive Police Partnerships (3P’s) in Communities of Color and provide insight to community members about the extreme challenges faced by police officers in 21st Century Policing. Practical exercises will be utilized to illustrate the positive impact of Transformational Policing. The course curriculum will include case studies & contemporary research data analysis.  
The training is consistent with contemporary law enforcement agency training standards.
