MDAP 831 - Critical Medical Anthropology3 credits Critical medical anthropology deals with two kinds of study: 1) analysis of unexamined assumptions about health, disease, and medicine made by political and medical establishments as well as popular opinion; and 2) how political systems and socioeconomic inequality affect health. The course focuses on these two aspects and includes comparison of health and medical systems in different societies through the lens of cultural and political economic differences.
