BBST 664 - Bible in the Media3 credits
A look at how representations of biblical material is portrayed in film. The course aims to explore how cinematic texts have used biblical sources, how these biblical sources have been adapted, and what these intertextual adaptations reveal as a rich site for thinking about the Bible and its impact on public life. Students will examine such questions as the adaptation of text; the politics of the biblical story; the characterizations of the divine, humanity, and the land/environment.
