BBST 680 - Gender and Sexuality in Early Christianity3 credits Study of gender and sexuality in selected texts from the New Testament and the literature of Early Christianity more generally. Engages with the interdisciplinary field of gender studies, including such areas as feminist theory and criticism, masculinity studies, lesbian and gay studies, and the history of sexuality. Special attention is given to such topics as gendered representations of God, male and female roles and relationships, and homoeroticism. Prerequisite: BBST 501 or BBST 511 .
