BBST 745 - Letters to Corinth3 credits What were the hopes and struggles of the people who gathered in the Greek city of Corinth in the first century and claimed the power of the spirit of God in Christ? The only way that we know about this group is through 1 and 2 Corinthians, and the texts that later intrepreted them. Following some feminist interpreters, this course places the communities that received Paul’s letters at the center of inquiry. With this historical and contextual approach, we consider how Paul’s letters might be approached dialogically and from multiple perspectives. Signature of instructor required for registration.
