BBST 714 - Gender, Race, and Place in the Pauline Tradition3 credits This course explores recent scholarly work on gender, race, and the study of space/place in the study of texts associated with Paul. Topics such as oikos vs. ekklesia, masculinity, wo/men’s agency, Jews and Gentiles as ethnic constructions, the archaeology of gender and race, and universalism and particularity will be discussed. Signature of instructor required for registration.
