INTD 712 - Interdisciplinary Seminar in Women’s Studies3 credits
A foundational seminar for students intending to include the study of sex and gender and/or women as a significant part of their graduate training. The course emphasizes the mutliple axes of ethnicity, race and nation for theorizing how the field thinks about gender and women. The first part of the course will involve discussion of common readings and research skills. The second part will include a colloquium series with visiting feminist faculty scholars from across the University who will discuss their own theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of women and gender.
