RLSC 727 - Feminist Ethics

3 credits
Feminist ethics will provide a survey of the major themes and thinkers within contemporary U.S. feminist Christian theological ethics in the 20th and 21st centuries (non-negotiable focus on time period, geographic and Christian theological context). The primary objective of the course is to identify and understand historical, generational, and methodological shifts as they affect the discipline of ethics broadly and feminist ethics specifically. Intra-feminist discourses related to race, religious tradition, and prioritization of particular social issues will be highlighted. As authors address social issues such as health care, violence, ecology and globalization, the course will engage these topics. The pedagogy and course development will be rooted in feminist methodology as much as the content of what we study.
