RLSC 783 - Ethically Responding to Violence Against Women

3 credits
The course focuses on cultural dynamics that contribute to both the problem of intimate violence against women and the strategies for addressing it.  Religion, specifically Christian faith and church life, is one of its primary concerns.  How has Christianity contributed to the problem of intimate violence and what are some practical, constructive, community responses to it, especially for Christian religious leaders?  Approaches include biblical and theological analyses, narrative accounts, and feminist human rights and social science analysis. Interdisciplinary Course.
