RLSC 775 - Moral Thought of Black Intellectuals3 credits A study of primary texts of selected intellectual figures of African descent as well as secondary texts that help to place those figures within the socio-historical and intellectual contexts in which they wrote. The course focuses on the social vision of African American and Afro-Latina/o scholars and collects their insights on issues related to the politics of race in the Americas. The issues include: education, religion, gender, war, and sexuality. Interdisciplinary course.
